Started Work!

I started my job yesterday. We're doing something about [deleted] and [deleted]. If I do a really good job, I'll get my name added to a corporate blacklist. I said if.

We paired up to tackle assignments due in a presentation and paper format tomorrow. Oh wait, I didn't get a partner and I sit by myself because my partner comes next week. Oh, and I had 2 days less to finish my project than everyone else. Oh, and I go home on time.

Well, I think I did a good job on my assignment. If it's not satisfactory, it's probably because I'm not as smart as the other people here, and that's something that's entirely possible.

Monterey

We took the 17 mile drive, and checked out Pebble Beach. The Lodge is super nice, you get a view of the 18th hole:

Made it to the wedding.
I think the Monterey the bride and groom envisioned was to look like this:
But it didn't. It was actually overcast and freezing cold. Luckily I brought a coat. Everyone else attended the ceremony in skiing gear.

Reception in the Monterey Plaza hotel. Five course meal with wine pairings. The bride made her own cake, chocolate on chocolate. Pretty awesome. I'm not posting pictures of the bride/groom because I don't really know them that well, and I think they're anti-photo.

Then the next day, we got up at 4.30am to drop me off at the airport. And today I'm in DC where my room is unbearably hot, already wishing I was back in San Diego...

We took tour 2 (bedrooms and kitchen). It was cold and foggy, and the weather would remain that way for the rest of the weekend.

Cupcakes again

Last Friday we drove up to Monterey for the wedding. On the way, we stopped in Santa Monica...


....and got cupcakes at Yummy's.

Not as sweet as Sprinkle's, and not as expensive. And parking is a lot easier.

Leaving San Diego

I'm leaving San Diego tomorrow for Cambria, Monterey, and Washington, DC in that order. Maybe a little bit of NYC too. Will return in 10-11 weeks. I'll still photoblog, but contact will be through email and phone/skype, and less chat (unless you use gmail chat).

Two days in LA

Was in LA Sat and Sun or various reasons. Visited the Getty Museum on Saturday


Also found exactly where I'm going to live, once I'm rich. Specifically, I'm going for the canals. C and I figured we only need a combined income of $300k, which means each person needs to pull in $150k. And hopefully the prices in that neighborhood won't rise too much, and hopefully the entire area won't sink underwater.

On Sunday we went to a party in Marina Del Rey. It was near this yacht club called Fanta Sea. I thought that was a cute name =P

Mission Beach @ night. Walked to PB and had dinner.


(separate day) Made a salad of roasted potatoes, salami, mozzarella, and green beans, and also made zabaglione with blackberries!

Today I went shopping. Back up. I am poor. I used to think I should dress appropriate for my profession and my upcoming successful law career, but C reminded me that I was poor and unlikely to become un-poor. So I went to Forever 21.

Ol' Muffy on a Leash

The best video ever made, short of the upcoming sequel. If this doesn't excite you about the possibilities of blogging, nothing will!

Etched in Rom

I started making videos of my cat. Like how people make videos of their children, so if their kids die they can reconstruct them perfectly with synthetic materials. In my case I've got a ton of claws, whiskers and fur all over so reconstruction materials won't be an issue.

I made a video of her eating dry food, one of wet, and for the past few days I've been trying to make a video of her on the litterbox.



She's not very happy about this turn of events. As you can see, she's taken to facing the wall when using the litterbox.



We also went on another extended walk today. I want to make another muffy walking video, but it's difficult to hold the camera and Muffy steady at the same time.

Chicken Marsala

I love chicken marsala, and I finally got around to making it on my own. I used this recipe, which actually came out really well without any alterations (except I doubled the sage). The sauce is kind of thin, but that's how you know it's not restaurant food. And ya, this was enough for two meals.

Trevor Hoffman Blows

Last Friday we went to the Padres v Dodgers game at Petco. I finally got to stop by Basic for a drink. It was absolutely packed, the pizza looked terrible, and I felt really out of place (being non-white and non-beautiful). But I did like the abandoned warehouse decor.

Anyhow, the game was completely sold out. It was also honor trevor hoffman day, so they gave us these clocks:He blew the save, second game in a row. We were up 4-2 and then we lost.

Back to studying for me. My finals finish later than pretty much everyone else in the world this year, I don't get out until May 17 =(
