Point Loma

Last week we checked out the tidepools @ Point Loma. It's the section of San Diego past the airport, that encompasses the ocean and rich people up through Sports Arena (and people like us).

Light house light, inside the Cabrillo LightHouse. Supposedly this is Cabrillo's first stop on the Pacific Coast. Busloads of tourists come to see his statue (I'd rather spend my time in Old Town).

A rare cloudy day. You can see down to Shelter Island from the lighthouse, which is a view of the military airport, submarine training station (below), and military housing. Point Loma itself is bounded on all sides by the Navy, so it's hard to get lost driving around.
